PATRIOT'S PEN ESSAY

I am very proud of this country and all its achievements over the years. I think that this country and its veterans have a lot to be proud of we obviously are blessed with amazing people who are willing to risk their lives for our country’s freedom. It’s hard to believe that some of these amazingly brave people will go and fight knowing they might never come back or at least they won’t see their family’s for months at a time. I am so proud of this country.
Some people might not realize how blessed this country is to have such giving and generous people living here. I know I could never last a minute in a war and I don’t know how so many people do. I’m sure there are times that the soldiers wish that they never enrolled in the army and they think of it as a very dumb thing to do but I think it is by no means dumb and that it is extremely brave and courageous.
Not only has our country done an amazing job supporting our veterans by raising money. People also go around and work hard to get donations of food and things to bring over to the soldiers fighting across seas. I know my school sometimes writes funny letters or poems to soldiers to make sure they know that they are not forgotten about and never alone. I feel like the country has done a great job keeping up with all the fundraising around the holidays and any time of the year.
Another thing I’m proud of is the fact that soldiers get to go home for a visit at some point in the year and especially around the holidays. I know if I was out there fighting I would want to come home and see my family and let them know that I’m okay. Although I know that some soldiers don’t get to let their family’s know that they are okay, because they are not okay. Some soldiers never get to go back home and I wish there was something we could do to prevent that.
I really am proud of this country and all the people living in it. It’s a good thing that people are doing to help and fight for this countries freedom. That’s why I am proud of this country.

AUTHORS NOTE: I am very proud of this country and I hope you are too. It feels so great be a part of this country and I hope you feel the same way too. This essay is about how proud of this country I am.

GREAT AMERICA

Author's Note: Having fun with friends is a fun thing to do in the summertime, especially in a fun place like Great America.

The creak of the tracks as we went up, we were shaking starting to wonder if we’d make it back down in one piece. Finally we came to a jolting stop, peering over the entire park, the suspense was building. I figured it was a little late to decide I wanted to get down. My friend and I looked at each other as if to say our final goodbyes as the ride races down the tracks. Going to Great America with a best friend promises much excitement and thrills.

My friend and I did make it down alive from the rollercoaster; I can now see why they call it Raging Bull. Although my friend and I were scared to death we loved every second of it, once we got off she asked if we could go on it again. If it weren’t for the miraculous growth of the line since the last time we went on we would’ve rode it again. If you go on Raging Bull at Great America you will have a lot of fun.  While basking in the excitement of Great America we didn’t forget to notice one of the most horrifically terrifying rides at the park, Super Man.

Sam and I quickly made our way across the park to Super Man. We were able to drag my dad along with us; most parents would pass up the opportunity to go on Super Man, but not my dad. Although most children would be focusing on watching their dad see all the people looping around them but I was focusing on my sisters face when she saw all the screaming people. It was the first time she’d ever worked up the courage to even step near Super Man. With her face slowly growing greener and greener even her friend couldn’t wipe the fear off her face. We were almost next and I could tell that it wouldn’t be pretty.

We finally got all the buckles fastened and all the straps tight enough that they were squeezing out my insides. The row consisted of me, Sam my best friend, and my dad. In front of us were my sister and her friend Brianna, as the seats went back and we were facing the ground like every time you ride it the shock of your body resting on a little pole sets in. Your body starts to react in panic as you try to push yourself up and hold on for dear life. As we were in the air my dad was trying to be funny by screaming it’s a bird it’s a plane it’s me. I shot him a look, but I was soon distracted by my friends face on the ride it was hilarious, I was glad I took my best friend along. Once we got off the ride my legs were wobbling, but we survived so it was okay.

We spent the rest of the day going on so many rides, we went on water log and raft rides, we were soaked. We also went on more rollercoaster’s, although they were a little less terrifying they were just as fun.  My friend and I had a blast; it was one of the best days in my summer vacation. By the end of the day we were exhausted and all four of us fell asleep during the ride home. It seemed like all four of us awoke at the same time, when we were pulling into my sisters’ friends’ driveway. Next stop was my friend’s house, and then the day would sadly come to an end.

We had so much fun that day, I was so glad I brought Sam with me it wouldn’t be the same without a best friend there by your side. The best way to have thrills and excitement is to go to Great America with a best friend.
